The NBA is a star’s league. Often, the winner of the championship is defined by who the best player in the Finals is.
Of course, NBA stars age just like anybody else. The league’s best players gradually decline as time goes on. Eventually, Father Time catches up to everyone.
Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets won’t have to worry about that for a little while. This is a player that’s squarely in his prime.
Nobody would deny that he’s good enough to be the best player on a championship team.
By contrast, Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat may lose that status soon. Butler is aging. If the Heat don’t make an unexpected title push this season, they may have to entertain moving on from him soon.
Could the send him to the Nuggets to team up with Jokic?
