Though they will leave Los Angeles with their five-game win streak snapped, Stephen Curry got many things to be thankful of in his return to the Golden State Warriors.
Curry made his return to the Dubs after being out for over a month. He has missed the team’s 11-straight games as he started nursing a left leg injury which he sustained back in February against the Dallas Mavericks.
“As the game gets deeper into it, you try to meet that intensity and that energy and that level — physically and mentally,” Curry said, via NBC Sports. “It felt great to get thrown back into there right away.
“I was a little sluggish in terms of the sharpness of my skill set early, and then you start to feel the speed of the game. If I get better as the game goes on, that’s always a great sign for me individually. And then for our team, even though we lost, there are some bright spots for sure. Felt great.”
Rusty on the initial parts of the Sunday match and was scoreless on the first frame, Curry went on to finish with a satisfying 27 markers. He scored 19 of it on the final quarter but his marvelous efforts weren’t enough to push the Dubs, taking a 113-105 defeat.
Facing the OKC Thunder up next, Golden State will eye to make a bounce back on Wednesday in order to be back to the win board and try to make a winning streak anew.
The Warriors have done a great job in holding the line with the reigning Finals MVP taking his time to recover. Now that he’s finally back, the ball club can only hope to keep their competitiveness alive as the association continues to get nearer on this season’s postseason arena.
