ASUS Zenbook 14 Flip OLED (UP3404) Is Coming To Malaysia For RM5,499

• Has latest Intel processor but otherwise, average specifications
• The branded keyboard, touchpad, and OLED display sets it apart

ASUS Malaysia recently announced the local availability and pricing of the Zenbook 14 Flip OLED (UP3404). 

What’s inside the new Zenbook 14 Flip OLED is average. The latest 13th Gen Intel Core i5-1340P is middle of the road, the Intel Iris Xe graphics are standard, the 16 GB of RAM is a popular configuration, and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD is typical.

The number of ports is not out of the ordinary either. There are two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB 3.2 Type-A port, and an HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) port with WiFi 6E (802.11ax) provides wireless connectivity.

What sets the Zenbook 14 Flip OLED (pic) apart is its display. It’s a 16:10 OLED touchscreen panel that measures 14 inches from edge to edge and has a 2.8K resolution. It also supports the included ASUS Pen 2.0 MPP 2.0 stylus.

However, like most displays in the market, it is PANTONE Validated, has a 100% CDI-P3 gamut, and is TÜV-certified for eye care. To maintain colour accuracy, the display also automatically adjusts its brightness and colour temperature and has adaptive dimming. 

Because the Zenbook 14 Flip OLED is aimed at professionals, it has the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard. With a full-size 19.05 mm key pitch, 1.4 mm key travel, and 0.1 mm keycap relief. Pair it with the ASUS ErgoSense and it becomes a comfortable work setup without an external keyboard and mouse.

The addition of an IR FHD camera lets users log in with facial e recognition and for sound, the Zenbook 14 Flip OLED sports a Harmon Kardon certified audio system with Dolby Atmos support and AI noise cancelling for calls.  

As for the body of the Zenbook 14 Flip OLED, it measures 15.9 mm thick and weighs 1.5 kg. Its construction, which consists of 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, is still up to the MIL-STD-810 US military-grade standard. Of course, the packaging is also 100% recyclable.

Powered by a 75Wh battery the energy efficiency of the convertible laptop is said to exceed the Energy Star standard. Its energy efficiency also outperforms the ENERGY STAR standard.

Price And Availability
The Zenbook 14 Flip OLED (UP5404) will be available in Malaysia starting in late March. It is priced at US$1,225 (RM5,499).
