Rain, possible thunderstorms expected Saturday afternoon – Chicago Tribune

National Weather Service officials are expecting rain showers Saturday afternoon in portions of north central and northeast Illinois, and northwest Indiana.

Skies are overcast in Chicago and there is an 80 percent chance or showers east of I-55 in the afternoon hours, officials said.

As of Saturday morning, the storms were moving toward the east northeast at 35 to 45 mph.

Temperatures were expected to rise to 56 degrees at O’Hare International Airport, with an overnight low of about 40 degrees with a 30 percent chance of rain. At Midway Airport conditions are mostly cloudy at 50 degrees.
