Promising Kaizer Chiefs youngster set for first team football!

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be on the verge of sending one of their most highly rated young players on loan to gain experience next season.

It is believed that the Chiefs management have made a decision on young defender Aden McCarthy’s short term future being away from the club.

Over the past couple of seasons, Chiefs have really opened the pipeline which allows some of their most promising youngsters create a pathway to the first team. This is the same pipeline that has seen the likes of Siyabonga Ngezana, Njabulo Blom, Happy Mashiane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, and most recently the trio of Mduduzi Shabalala, Samkelo Zwane and Wandile Duba.

That has then given hope to the likes of Mfundo Vilakazi and McCarthy to believe that they can also join some of their former teammates by graduating into the Chiefs first team structures. While it is believed that Vilakazi could well find himself promoted to Arthur Zwane’s side next season, centre back McCarthy is believed to be on his way out, at least for a season, so that he can gain some first team football. 

McCarthy leaving Chiefs on loan?

“You remember during Stuart Baxter’s time he was with the senior team at few occasions? He played some games but was not fully promoted to the senior team. So now what they want to do is promote him but immediately loan him out so that he can get game-time and experience. He is a very good defender but very young and still needs to learn more so the technical team and management feel that the loan move will help him gain that valuable experience needed to play in the first team” Soccer-Laduma wrote.

The 19-year-old is the son of Chiefs legend Fabian McCarthy, who also played centre back for the club. In addition to the Amakhosi youth structures, he has also been a member of both the South African u-20 and u-23 squads.
