Stand-in Kaizer Chiefs skipper Yusuf Maart won’t be feeling great this Monday in the wake of a disappointing result against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup.
Proof that Maart played for Orlando Pirates
It was a long time ago, but Yusuf Maart did actually represent the Orlando Pirates first team. He was with the Buccaneers youth setup and made two appearances in total for them between 2017 and 2020, with just one of those coming in the DStv Premiership.

Pirates fans get the last laugh over Kaizer Chiefs
Maart got under the skin of Pirates fans in the pre-match hype before Chiefs lose to Pirates in extra time of the Nedbank Cup semifinal on Saturday.
“The only difference is the supporters and fans. Is the most-different… Chiefs have a lot of supporters, Pirates also have a lot but I think 90% it’s Chiefs.” Maart said.
These comments haven’t aged all that well. Pirates have bagged this season’s MTN8 and are preparing for the Nedbank Cup final against Sekhukhune. Meanwhile, the Kaizer Chiefs trophy drought continues into a ninth year.
