Thailand’s coalition cabinet stresses national unity in first meeting

BANGKOK — Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin held his first cabinet meeting on Wednesday, pledging to focus on remedying economic disparities and uniting the country following a fractious election.

“The new government will serve all the people,” Srettha said at a news conference following the meeting, one day after he was sworn in as prime minister in front of King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
