The City of Cape Town has denied claims of an altercation between its officials and Bo-Kaap residents over Palestinian-themed art on private properties, but the residents say mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith “mustn’t lie”.
“I was present,” Bo-Kaap community member Ebrahim Billy Christian told News24.
The Bo-Kaap community decided to show their solidarity with Palestinians by having artists paint messages of support on their homes.
