Dhanraj Bhuruth, an automotive worker from Brampton, won a Lotto 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw.

The husband and father said he’s been a regular lottery player for the past 10 years and plays his own numbers that are significant to him and his family.

Bhuruth says he was in the store when he discovered his big windfall.
“I saw the Big Winner screen appear and I had to scan it again, it was so unbelievable,” he told OLG after his big win in the Nov. 11 draw. “I scanned it for a third time and took a photo of the screen. I still couldn’t accept it was real.”
Following that, he brought his family to the store.

“I told them I needed to show them something, and I was laughing. My wife was wondering what was going on — she didn’t believe it at first. My children said, ‘Yes it’s true!’”
Bhuruth plans to pay down his mortgage and take his wife on her dream trip.
“I never imagined I would win money like this. I feel so thankful!”
His winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Weston Rd. in Toronto.
