An over-50s lifestyle resort is making progress on the Sunshine Coast with the project valued at more than $500m.
Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters will feature 332 single- and double-storey homes when it is completed around 2027 although the first residents moved in towards the end of last year.

Palm Lake Resort sales manager Alysia Nechvoglod said civil works started in July 2021 and it was the most-extensive project ever undertaken by the Palm Lake Group in its 47-plus years’ history.
“Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters sees the emergence of Australia’s most premier over-50s resort lifestyle community for those homeowners seeking to meld superior residences with all those lifestyle features that have made Palm Lake Resort the coveted brand in this demographic,” she said.
“In addition, our location right alongside Pelican Waters golf course, on the gorgeous Sunshine Coast, with easy access to golden beaches, wildlife-filled waterways, transport, retail and essential services, makes Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters an iconic over-50s address.
“Just ask those savvy homeowners already living – and loving – their luxury new over-50s lifestyle here.”
Construction of residences began in December 2022 and it will take around five years to complete all homes.
Work on The Springs Country Club began in July 2023 with the community facility expected to be in operation in the first half of 2025.
The $45m clubhouse will be for the exclusive use of homeowners in the resort and will feature five independent precincts all supporting homeowners’ social, sporting and wellness requirements.
Some residences will enjoy water frontage, some will have direct access to the Greg Norman-designed golf course, and some will feature both a waterfront position and golf frontage.
Homes range from $1.4m to $4.5m depending on the level of inclusions as well as the location on the masterplan.
Optional packages span kitchen, laundry and technology upgrades and there is also an option to install a pool in selected locations.
There are two display homes open for inspection.
The single-storey Santa Rosa with a floorplan covering 238.5sq m has a two-bedroom two-bathroom configuration and is proving a popular design.
The double-storey Cimarron with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a floorplan covering 497.6sq m includes a plunge pool, technology and audio upgrades, kitchen, laundry and wet bar upgrades and an outdoor barbecue.
The gated and pet-friendly resort includes a complimentary golf car with every new home purchase, limited off-site caravan and RV storage, a four lane ten-pin bowling alley, eight-rink covered bowling green, luxury gold-class cinema, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and spas, poolside cabanas, yoga and reformer pilates studio, piano bar and cocktail lounge, fire pit, saunas, steam rooms, vichy showers and an outdoor kitchen with barbecue facilities and teppanyaki plates.
The golf course and recently-unveiled cafe are open to the public.
After an 18-month closure to allow the resort to spring to life around it, the course was officially reopened at a star-studded celebrity event last August.
