Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma is back. What are the team’s goals for the rest of the season?

REPORTS: BRUCE BVUMA TO SIGN NEW DEAL WITH KAIZER CHIEFS
It was around October last year when Bvuma was linked with an exit.
However, the dismal form of Brandon Petersen and Itumeleng Khune’s ill-discipline gifted Bvuma a golden chance.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper took the chance with both hands. Bvuma, originally from Leratong, Gauteng, went on to contribute with three straight clean sheets before Afcon 2023 got in the way.

NEW CONTRACT IN THE BAG?
According to a new report, the Naturena Academy graduate is moments away from signing a new deal extension.
“Kaizer Chiefs are looking to extend the contract of Bruce Bvuma after his stellar performances in the last few DStv Premiership games before the break,” iDiskiTimes’ Sinethemba Makonco reported.
“iDiski Times understands that Chiefs have tabled a new two-year deal for the shot stopper, as they look to tie him down to avoid losing him on a free transfer, as he is in the last six months of his current contract.
“A new contract that has been tabled is until June 2026,” the report concluded.
TARGET FOR THE END OF THE SEASON
With the league title all but gone, what are Chiefs aiming for in May?
According to Bvuma, the target to finish in the top three to secure CAF Champions League or CAF Confederation Cup football. The latter can also be reached with a Nedbank Cup title.
“There is a lot to play form” said Bvuma on Prime Sports with Mahlatse.
“We are looking forward … for the league to resume so we can fight and finish in a better position.
“We would like to go back to Africa, that is one of our targets for the season,
Chiefs are currently in sixth place in the table, five points off SuperSport United in third and Cape Town City in second. A top three finish in the league, or victory in the Nedbank Cup, will give Chiefs a spot in continental competition next season.
“Or course we still want to play the Nedbank Cup so we are looking forward to all the games and winning a trophy would be great,” the Chiefs goalkeeper concluded.
