Hugo Broos is happy with the progress made by his Bafana Bafana side despite a pair of drawn friendlies in the recent international window even if the news was mixed when it came to what was learned.
The head coach believes his side have no reason to fear any other African side.

Broos feels that Algeria were as stiff a test as his team could face in continental compeition.
“What a game, it was a fantastic game from both teams and the performance of South Africa was really, really good today,” Broos said after the draw with Algeria as broadcast on SuperSport TV.
“We played against a very strong team, but I don’t think there was much difference in quality between Algeria and ourselves.
“So that means that we have made a lot of progression in the last months, where we’ve shown that already at AFCON.
“But I think today, we did it again. I don’t think we have to be afraid anymore of any team in Africa.”
Confidence high
While some fans and pundits have bemoaned a lack of cutting edge, Broos feels that confidence in the group is high.
“The team is brimming with confidence, which is also what I witnessed at the AFCON tournament. We are not just a team on the pitch but also a team off the pitch.
“This is very important, as we’re a squad of 23 players and only 11 but you see also that the guys on the bench are really supportive of those on the pitch.
“This is a very good thing and when you see this as a coach you can only be happy.
“What we showed at AFCON, we showed again on the pitch tonight that we’ve made a lot of progress.”
Broos said that there were players who would be called back to the group in June after an impressive run.
”Without mentioning names, there are some players who convinced me, and we will see them in June,” Broos said according to SABC Sport.
No news, goals still a Bafana Bafana problem
Broos has acknowledged that a lack of a goalscorer is a problem that Bafana Bafana have had to deal with for some time.
“This has been a problem for several years in South African football, so we don’t really have the big scorer, even when there are guys who score rather easily in the local competition,” Broos said, per iDiski Times.
“You see Mayo eight goals, Rayners also [scoring] but we’ll see, Iqraam on Tuesday will play, but everyone has to know those games, international games are one or two levels higher than PSL, it’s not easy to score but on the other end.
“We have to see for the moment there are three strikers who aren’t here, Makgopa, Mothiba and Foster, so there are some things to wait for. I hope all three of them. Maybe not Mothiba but Makgopa and Foster will be ready in June.”
