The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has confirmed that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not resign as the Chief Minister of Delhi, following his arrest by Enforcement Directorate officials in connection with the excise policy case.

AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi stated that Kejriwal will continue as the CM and run the government from jail if needed.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, accusing the AAP of a “political witch-hunt” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has demanded Kejriwal’s immediate resignation as CM.

Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva praised Kejriwal’s arrest as the defeat of corruption and demanded his resignation.

AAP leader Atishi announced plans to move the Supreme Court for an urgent night hearing and called for a “revolution to overthrow the dictatorial government at the Centre.”
