Coventry City striker Matt Godden is on Charlton Athletic’s striker shortlist.
The 32-year-old, from Canterbury, is contracted to the Sky Blues until the summer of 2025.
Godden has previously been linked with the Addicks when he was at Stevenage.
But when he did leave them in June 2018 he made the move to Peterborough United for a six-figure fee.
Godden hit 18 goals in 48 matches for Posh in one campaign before a £750,000 transfer to Coventry. The frontman has scored 50 goals in 155 matches for City and has clocked up 34 appearances in the current campaign, 23 of those starts.
Godden started his career in non-league and the Kent area with prolific stints at Dartford and Ebbsfleet.
He won a League One promotion with the Sky Blues in 2020 and was also named in the PFA Team of the Year for that campaign.
Godden was linked with Derby and Oxford before extending his stay at Coventry in August.
The Addicks will look to bring in a goalkeeper this summer as a priority addition.
Charlton already have two senior stoppers contracted – Harry Isted and Ashley Maynard-Brewer – both have struggled to impress in a leaky backline that conceded 65 goals in 46 League One matches.
Aussie Maynard-Brewer did not feature once after Nathan Jones replaced Michael Appleton at the start of February.
But Isted, who worked under Jones at Luton, only kept two clean sheets in his final 16 outings.
Maynard-Brewer’s deal runs until 2026 with Isted’s terms lasting until at least 2025.
