Storied champagne house Veuve Clicquot has launched new RICH and RICH Rosé cuvées in Singapore with its ‘Sun Club’ pop-up movement. Champagne lovers can now look forward to a French Riviera inspired escape at partnering terrace bars such as +Twelve, Singapore’s first adult beach club over at Sentosa, Lantern (The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore), Canyon Club (Mondrian Singapore Duxton Hill) and Mr Stork (Andaz Singapore), where you can enjoy the new cuvées.
The RICH and RICH Rosé are a duo of easy-to-drink champagnes. Why RICH, you may ask? Back in the 1870s, Veuve Clicquot had used the ‘RICH’ label to distinguish sweet from dry (Brut) champagne in shipments bound for the UK. The new sweet cuvées are recommended to be enjoyed served on ice or very cold for its optimum temperature, with no concerns around diluted tastes. RICH blend combines a bouquet of fresh and fruity flavours, carrying notes of orchard fruits (pineapple, mango, Mirabelle plum) with the freshness of lemongrass and peppermint; while RICH Rosé features berries (strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant) with Pinot Noir, exotic and peppermint notes.
RICH is recommended for pairing with mango, pineapple or seasonal white fruit, and sweet, salty and spicy cuisine such as vegetable curry. Meanwhile the RICH Rosé, which gets its pink hues from an added blend of Pinot Noir red wine grapes, goes well with foods such as smoked fish, spicy fruits salad, sweet potato and yakitori skewers.
Veuve Clicquot Sun Clubs
Veuve Clicquot has also launched its Sun Club initiative in Singapore, an expression of the new cuvées’ invitation to relax and enjoy the spirit of summer. The theme colour yellow, which is the colour of the rising sun, has been on its bottle labels since 1877 and is a mainstay of Sun Club. First launched in June this year at Europe’s summer party hotspots of Ibiza, Paris and Rome, the Sun Club popup in Singapore is now debuting at +Twelve, the beachfront club at Palawan Beach Sentosa, known for its terraced cabanas with personal plunge pools and gorgeous seaside views.
Until end November, look forward to seeing Sun Club’s sunny themes at +Twelve, including the opportunity to enjoy sips of RICH and RICH Rosé at sun club tables and cabana cubes beneath striped parasols, at S$198 and S$228 a bottle respectively. +Twelve will also be offering food pairings such as Seafood Ceviche (S$35) and Grilled Mediterranean Seafood Skewers (S$45++) to complete the experience, against a backdrop of lively music, sea breeze and sun.
On mainland Singapore, champagne lovers can also enjoy the RICH cuvées in the unique ambience that Lantern, Canyon Club and Mr Stork each offer, with still some manifestations of Sun Club. All of these participating venues will offer limited-time-only food and drink pairings revolving around the new releases. Prices of champagne vary among venues, but start from around S$32 a glass for RICH.
Make your way to one of Veuve Clicquot’s four partnering venues to for a glass of RICH or RICH Rosé soon! With Singapore in a state of forever summer, there is more than enough reason for us to party like there’s no tomorrow, and pop the bubbly.
