While the LA Lakers have been one of the busier sides so far in the trade window it appears they may be looking to add another star before the deadline.
JJ Redick’s side welcomed Shake Milton and Dorian Finney-Smith in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets which saw the departure of D’Angelo Russell.
Lakers fans were happy with Milton’s 21-point display in the team’s dominant 134-96 win over the Washington Wizards.
Finney-Smith was also in the Lakers fans’ good books recently following his insane dunk against the Charlotte Hornets, Austin Reaves was left speechless by it.
While Milton and Finney-Smith are having a strong impact on the Lakers it appears they want to add another star name to their side.
Lakers interested in Hawks star Bogdanovic
After a slow start to the season, the Lakers have certainly begun to find their groove and have won five of their last six games to help them to a 27-19 record in the West.
The Lakers are still struggling to get the best from Bronny James, and with in-form star Anthony Davis out through injury, the team are looking to the trade market to continue their positive momentum.
Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox is currently the hottest property on the trade market right now but a move to the Lakers has been ruled out by insider Shams Charania.
However, according to reports the Lakers are interested in Atlanta Hawks star Bogdan Bogdanovic, a star that Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo was keen on playing with.
Journalist Anthony Irwin said: “Lots of noise swirling around Bogdan Bogdanovic potentially to the Lakers.”
NBA correspondent Marc Stein also confirmed: “The Hawks have begun actively exploring the trade market for their own perimeter specialist: Bogdan Bogdanović.”
Exploring Bogdanovic’s numbers
After being selected by the Sacramento Kings in the 2014 NBA draft the Serbian has been a consistent NBA scorer without ever dropping game-changing numbers.
Bogdanovic spent three seasons with the Kings before moving to the Hawks where he has called home for the past five seasons.
The 6′ 5″ guard has averaged almost 30 minutes per game in each of his Hawks’ seasons except for this year, perhaps his drop in minutes is a point to the team’s wish to secure a trade.
This season Bogdanovic averages 10 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2 assists. However, those numbers have dropped off considerably from previous seasons. He averaged 16.9 points the season prior.
Perhaps Bogdanovic could benefit from a new challenge, the Lakers could certainly get the best out of the guard who would certainly add some solid depth to a team in need of some guys to support both Davis and LeBron.
