French engineering group Egis has opened a dedicated water engineering production centre in the Philippines, targeting flood control and urban water management across the Asia-Pacific region.
Egis said it had established the Egis Production Centre Philippines (EPCP) in Manila, building on its work on the Infrastructure Preparation and Innovation Facility (IPIF-2 Water), a flood risk management project that involved more than 150 engineers.
The centre will employ a team of over 20 specialists in flood control, drainage and urban water treatment, using hydraulic modelling, computer-aided design and geographical information systems.

EPCP will work across rural and urban water projects, from flood management and irrigation to treatment plants and distribution networks. Early assignments include a 2D hydraulic modelling study covering 600 km of the Danube River, a water management plan for the Al-Ula Sharaan project in Saudi Arabia and preliminary design work for a salinity barrier project in Sri Lanka.
“The EPCP enhances our capacity to provide tailored water management solutions, essential as we confront increasing climatic challenges,” said Xavier Lazennec, Egis director of water, environment and energy transition.
