Rita Ora Joins I Am Hope’s Gumboot Friday Campaign
British singer Rita Ora is lending her star power to the Gumboot Friday campaign, an annual fundraiser supporting I Am Hope, a charity dedicated to youth mental health. The initiative aims to provide free counseling services for individuals aged 5 to 25.
Ora’s participation amplifies the cause, emphasizing the critical need for accessible mental health resources for young people in New Zealand.
A Significant Milestone for the Campaign
Mike King, the founder of I Am Hope, expressed that Rita Ora’s involvement marks a pivotal moment for the organization.
“Having Rita Ora support Gumboot Friday is phenomenal. As a global icon with a vast audience, her endorsement draws attention to the mental health needs of our youth here in New Zealand, and we are truly appreciative,” said King.
He continued, “Each day, we receive messages from young individuals and their families seeking someone to talk to. Gumboot Friday was established to ensure these young people have access to counseling. Rita’s backing will help spread the word about the campaign and the vital assistance available.”
King also extended his gratitude to Authority PR for facilitating this partnership and acknowledged Rita’s team for their exceptional support throughout the collaboration. “It has been a pleasure working with them. We are incredibly thankful for their dedication to I Am Hope and Gumboot Friday,” he added.
Community Engagement for Young Kiwis
The Gumboot Friday event is scheduled for Friday, November 6, and aims to unite communities, workplaces, and schools in support of youth mental health initiatives.
Since its inception in 2019, the campaign has successfully funded over 170,000 counseling sessions across New Zealand through a network of registered practitioners.
Members of the public can participate by wearing gumboots and making donations via the Gumboot Friday website, ensuring that young individuals have access to the mental health support they require.
