East London tunnel closed after death on A12 in serious incident

A person has died following an incident on the Green Man Roundabout this evening.

Members of the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene on the Green Man Roundabout in Bushwood, East London, on the A12 at 6.07pm today (November 28).

An ambulance crew, advanced paramedic, medic in a car, team leader and incident response officer all attended the scene, as well as London’s Air Ambulance.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

No details have currently been released about the deceased.

The incident occurred between Harrier Avenue (George Green tunnel) and A114 Whipps Cross Road (Green Man Roundabout).

There is congestion in the area as the Southbound side was initially blocked, affecting traffic between Wanstead and Hackney Wick.

The Green Man Tunnel remains closed Northbound towards the North Circular.

A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 6:07pm today (28 November) to reports of an incident on the Green Man Roundabout, A12.

“We sent an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a car, a team leader, and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance by road.

“Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
