Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have produced a mixed bag of fascinating results in Africa and Europe.

Amakhosi started their tour off on a negative note, losing 1-0 to Yanga SC.
However, Pirates had a successful tour of Spain, finishing their pre-season unbeaten. Finally, Sundowns are unbeaten in their first to matches in Europe.

CHIEFS, PIRATES AND SUNDOWNS PRE-SEASON RESULTS:
Amakhosi, the Bucs and The Brazilians have produced a mixed bag of results with plenty of positives from a South African perspective. The Glamour Boys are the only side to have lost. As previously mentioned, Pirates and Sundowns have produced three wins and two draws between them in Europe, to date.
It must be noted that Amakhosi have just started their tour of Africa. Furthermore, Pirates are done with their pre-season of Spain and Sundowns are halfway through their European pre-season.

BUCS AND DOWNS SOAR IN EUROPE
The Bucs finished their pre-season tour of Spain unbeaten.
Furthermore, Sundowns are yet to taste defeat. Therefore, The Bucs and Brazilians will take plenty of confidence heading into the 2023/24 season. Gent is a top-flight Belgium Pro League side while Go Ahead Eagles play in the top-flight Dutch Eredivisie side.

Pirates wrapped up their pre-season tour whilst Rhulani Mokwena’s men still have two games left in Europe. They face Sparta Rotterdam on Wednesday, 26 July 2023 before finishing their tour of Europe against NAC Breda on Friday, 28 July 2023.
NTSEKI TAKES POSITIVES OUT OF AMAKHOSI LOSS
Amakhosi are the only team amongst ‘The Big Three’ who have lost. However, they are rebuilding with a new coach in charge and five new faces handed starts with another five players unavailable due to injury. Ntseki took several positives out of the loss to Yanga SC.
“This being a pre-season, physically and tactically the boys did very well. The new signings did well… in terms of the team’s performance, I am happy. If you look at the way we played in the first half and the second half, there is something cooking, there is something we are working on,” he stated on Goal.
