‘Allo ‘Allo! actor Robin Parkinson has died at the age of 92 surrounded by his close family and friends. The comedy star was a household name on screens during the 70s and 80s after shooting to stardom with his role as Monsieur Ernest Leclerc in the sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo! from series seven.
A statement issued on behalf of the actor’s family said: “Robin Parkinson, actor, known for ‘Allo ‘Allo and as the voice of Button Moon, has died peacefully at the age of 92 with his wife and daughters by his side.”
Robin enjoyed a memorable career in film, theatre and television for over 40 years and appeared in popular TV shows Girls About Town, The Many Wives Of Patrick, The Young Ones and Rising Damp.

After he became a household name for his role as Monsieur Ernest Leclerc, Robin then performed as Monsieur Ernest Leclerc in the West End and toured Australia in the 1990s.
Robin, who was from Coventry, was also well known for voicing children’s TV series Button Moon and lent his acting chops to feature in the 1980s TV adverts for Tunes and Babycham. The 92-year-old tragically lost his daughter Sarah Parkinson in September 2003 after she battled breast cancer.
His late daughter, who followed in his footsteps and had a career in acting, was married to stand-up comedian Paul Merton. His daughter Rebecca also works in television production.
