Two armed robbers traveling in a black SUV demanded victims property in four separate robberies overnight on the North and Northwest sides, Chicago police said.
The first robbery happened shortly after 11:05 p.m. Wednesday in the Logan Square neighborhood in the 1900 block of Whipple Street, police said.
A 46-year-old man was walking when two males got out of a black SUV and took his wallet at gunpoint.
The duo struck again shortly after 11:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Whipple Street. The two robbers exited the SUV and took a 25 year-old man’s phone at gunpoint, police said.
Around 11:30 p.m., the robbers targeted a 25-year-old woman in the 500 block of North Wood Street in the West Town neighborhood, taking the woman’s purse at gunpoint, police said.
An attempted robbery happened at 11:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of North Oakley Avenue in the Bucktown neighborhood.
A 50-year-old man was walking when the robbers got out of a SUV and attempted to rob the man but the man ran away, escaping them, police said.
The fourth robbery happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the 2000 block of West McLean Avenue. The robbers got out of a SUV and took a 51-year-old man’s phone and wallet at gunpoint, police said.
No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
