Bryson DeChambeau outduels Rory McIlroy in final round to win U.S. Open

Bryson DeChambeau needed some good fortune in the U.S. Open, but that didn’t tamp down the celebration of his second major championship.

DeChambeau parred the final three holes to complete a 1-over-par 71, and that was enough for a one-shot victory, as he won the U.S. Open for the second time in five years on Sunday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

“Just thankful,” the 30-year-old DeChambeau said. “Thankful that I was a part of it.”
