Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the government’s measures to ease the cost of living “won’t help”.
“There is no real help, if you don’t have a child that needs childcare,” he said.
“If you’re a couple, family where you think one of you should stay at home to give your child optimal care, there is nothing in this budget to help you with cost of living apart from cheaper medicines.”
Mr Bolt said the government claimed they were helping ease cost of living through cheaper electricity but the budget showed “electricity is going up 50 per cent in a year and a half”.
“The spending that you do see is on trash … there’s billions being spent, $25 billion, on green policies,” he said.
“Including such useless things as creating hydrogen charging stations.”
