‘It’s only a matter of time’

Prince William is said to have lingering doubts about Prince Harry and his relationship with Meghan Markle, with a new report alleging the future king remains surprised the marriage has lasted as long as it has.

Next month marks eight years since Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle, but insiders claim William’s stance has not softened over time.

Prince William had harsh ‘verdict’ on Harry and Meghan’s marriage

According to a source speaking to Closer, William allegedly expected the relationship to falter much sooner.

They reportedly claimed: “He genuinely expected that she’d have chewed him up and spit him out by now. Not that he’s changed his tune – he’s still saying it will be over any day now. He believes she’s gotten everything she wanted from his brother, so it’s only a matter of time before he’s of no use to her anymore.

“It’s a very harsh take on things, but William is unequivocal in his belief that Meghan is nothing but an opportunist. All the Hollywood stuff is another red flag in his view because he doesn’t believe for one second that Harry wants to be paraded around the red carpet like a show pony. Sure, it may have been a fun novelty at first, but William knows him well enough to see the discomfort written on his face in all the pictures he’s seen.”

The insider went on to claim that William believes a breaking point is inevitable, though insists he would support his brother if that moment came.

The source reportedly said: “William is convinced that, sooner or later, his brother will have had enough – that is, if Meghan doesn’t toss him to the side first. And, when that happens William will be there to welcome him back, but not a day sooner.”

Kensington Palace has been contacted for comment.

Moment William ‘raised concerns’ about Meghan

Prince Harry has previously addressed the early days of his relationship with Meghan, including a moment when his brother reportedly raised concerns.

In November 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan announced their engagement before going on to marry in May 2018.

It’s a very harsh take on things, but William is unequivocal in his belief that Meghan is nothing but an opportunist.

While promoting his memoir Spare during a 2023 interview with ITV presenter Tom Bradby, Harry spoke about how his family reacted at the time.

The duke said: “Some of the things that my brother and sister-in-law, some of the way that they were acting or behaving definitely felt to me as though, unfortunately, that stereotyping was causing a bit of a barrier to them really sort of, you know, introducing or welcoming her in.”

Tom asked Harry whether William had tried to “dissuade” him from marrying Meghan.

However, Harry replied: “No, he never tried to dissuade me from marrying Meghan, but he aired some concerns, very early on and said, you know, this is going to be really hard for you.”

As the couple approach another wedding anniversary, the claims offer a fresh glimpse into the reported tensions behind palace doors, and the very different views said to remain between the two brothers.

LAURYN HILL AND HER KIDS STAR IN NEW DENIM TEARS CAMPAIGN

Lauryn Hill and her children are front and center in a new fashion campaign.

The singer appears alongside several of her kids in Denim Tears’ Spring/Summer 2026 rollout, marking a rare family moment tied to a major brand release.

The campaign features Hill with Selah Marley, YG Marley, Sara Marley, John Nesta Marley, and Micah Hill.

The photos, captured in black-and-white, places Hill and her children in a stripped-down setting that keeps the focus on the denim pieces.

The collection is set to launch online on April 17 at 11 a.m. ET, with early in-store access beginning April 16 at African Diaspora Goods in New York and at the brand’s Atlanta residency in Lenox Square.

Hill has six children in all. She shares five children with Rohan Marley — Zion, Joshua, John, Selah, and Sara . She welcomed her youngest son, Micah, in 2021.

Her experience as a young mother, particularly during the height of her career, became a defining part of her story and inspired her song “To Zion,”.

Photos: @liammacrae @justinsarinana

In a 1999 interview with The Guardian, she said, “That song is about the revelation that my son was to me. I had always made decisions for other people, making everybody else happy, and once I had him that was really the first decision that was unpopular for me…And it was the best decision that I could have ever made because I’m the happiest and healthiest that I have ever been.”

Hill continues to balance her career with motherhood. She recently returned to Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey, for the 2nd Annual gMAC Harlem Renaissance Fashion Show, where her daughter Sara Marley took on a hosting role. The event raised funds for scholarships, college visits, and academic enrichment.

“This was a wonderful event,” Hill said after the show.

She then introduced her daughter, adding, “This is my daughter, Sara Marley, for those who don’t know. She was a wonderful, fabulous host. This was a wonderful event. We should have done this every year!”

What Travis Kelce represents to Tommy Hilfiger

It was just a few weeks ago that Travis Kelce was announced as the new global brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger. I was actually surprised a couple of years ago when I saw headlines about the resurgence and sales figures improving year over year for the last several because… well… for a while there, and maybe still, Tommy Hilfiger had become an outlet mall brand.

But Gen Z has been all over Tommy for a while – and then Sofia Richie, an icon to Gen Z, collaborated with the brand for a new collection last year and now here we are, at a time when everything 90s is on trend again, especially after Love Story: John and Carolyn, Tommy Hilfiger is, at least for some, officially back on top. I mean, I’m not shopping there but they’re not after my money, they’re catering to a specific demo. Which brings us back to Travis and what they think he represents.

Travis was in New York yesterday shooting a Tommy campaign. Taylor Swift was supposedly nearby at the Plaza Hotel, hanging out while Travis was at work. Give it a minute and someone will post an “exclusive” about how Tommy Hilfiger is dressing Travis – or both of them – for the wedding.

On paper, I see why Travis x Tommy is a good fit: all-American and preppy and he’s marrying America’s pop princess etc etc etc. But I’m looking at him in this boring AF outfit, in contrast to some of the hilariously obnoxious outfits he’s been seen in (not complaining) and how much fun he likes to have with his wardrobe and I’m kind of underwhelmed. Travis’s personal style, in my opinion, is better than Taylor’s. I wonder if it’s about to be watered down.

What else happened today…

Here at the 2026 inductees to the Rock Hall. Impossible to dispute anyone on this list – and my personal favourite here is Sade, can’t wait to see what the tribute will be – but Ms Lauryn Hill and Mariah Carey didn’t make the cut, again. How much longer are they going to make Mimi wait?! (Pajiba)

Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Charles Melton continue to promote season two of Beef and Carey continues to not wear black! (Go Fug Yourself)

We are three months away from the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day so it won’t be long before we start seeing new footage from the movie – and while this is a superhero movie, I’m also excited by Rachel Leishman’s reporting that it will also be one for the heart. We will be crying at Spider-Man! I’m ready for it! (The Mary Sue)

Despite reports to the contrary (the British tabloids, obvs), Australia is very excited about Prince Harry and Meghan’s not-officially-royal-but-basically-royal tour. (Celebitchy)

The stars of Masters of the Universe (the movie I call Dumdums of the Universe – with love) cover the new issue of Entertainment Weekly and it is exactly as corny as it should be. The main character is called He-Man, and when your hero’s name is that stupid, just lean into, all the way, don’t pull back. This movie already has my money. (EW)

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway Reappears—With an Oxygen Machine

It has not been an easy few months for the Norwegian royal family. In addition to the controversy over the publication of emails between Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Jeffrey Epstein, which alluded to an apparently closer relationship than she had previously admitted, 89-year-old King Harald had to be hospitalized for an infection while enjoying a few days off in Tenerife. Meanwhile, the trial against Marius Borg Høiby, Mette-Marit’s son who was accused of up to 40 crimes, ended in March and a verdict is expected in June. In December, Mette-Marit also announced that her case of lung disease pulmonary fibrosis had progressed.

Afterward, Mette-Marit remained out of the public eye, except for a public visit King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium and a television interview to clarify her friendship with Epstein. But on Monday, the princess resumed her work schedule on a public engagement with her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, and her two children, Prince Sverre Magnus and Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

It was connected to breathing assistance system carried. It is the first time that the princess appeared with oxygen during an official act, highlighting her chronic disease. The official palace statement about the illness’s progression said she may need a lung transplant in the future.

No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont has been diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s disease aged 58.

Sharing the news in an Instagram video, the musician said his diagnosis comes after several years of symptoms and is “a struggle every day”.

“I went to my doctor, I went to a neurologist, and I did a whole bunch of tests. It’s been a struggle,” he said.

“I think it helps erase some of the stigma, and it raises awareness, obviously, and awareness is really important for prevention and for research.”

The guitarist’s post has attracted plenty of supportive comments, including from his No Doubt bandmates and fellow music industry legends.

“Love you beyond words my friend. Can’t wait to get on stage with you again,” the band’s bassist Tony Kanal wrote, while drummer Gabrial McNair wrote, “My friend, bandmate, and hero……I love you brother.”

No Doubt’s keyboardist and saxophonist Gabrial McNair said, “You are such a beautiful soul, Tom!! I love you so much and can’t wait get on stage with you!!”

“Sending you so much love Tom. You are such a special soul. What a man,” fellow ’90s rockers Garbage wrote.

Per the World Health Organisation, Parkinson disease is a brain condition that causes problems with movement, mental health, sleep, pain and other health issues.

The condition gets worse over time and there is no cure, but therapies and medicines can reduce symptoms, which include tremors, painful muscle contractions and difficulty speaking.

Other stars who’ve spoken openly about their Parkinson’s disease experiences include Michael J Fox, Linda Ronstadt, Billy Connelly and Alan Alda.

Next month, Dumont will join his No Doubt bandmates, including frontwoman Gwen Stefani, in the band’s 18-show residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

“It’s kind of made me think about how grateful I am for the life I’ve gotten to lead as a musician all these years,” he added.

“And it’s thanks to our families and our friends and listeners and you and everyone who’s come out to shows over the years.”

Colman Domingo Is A Natural, But Sketches Don’t Rise To His Level

In his Saturday Night Live debut, Colman Domingo cements himself in that rarified class of novices whose technical lack of experience belies a natural understanding of stage gravitas and sketch comedy.

An obligatory search to confirm the Emmy-winning Euphoria star had never hosted the Lorne Michaels-helmed late-nighter was baffling spiritually, even if it was accurate factually. By the end of the night, the ease with which the actor held his own — not a break in sight — was almost enough to elevate middling sketch material, a problem that has plagued Season 51 since its inception.

This was best exemplified by the Sing Sing star’s opening monologue; I would say it screamed effortless cool, but the reality was that the opener mostly crooned it, Domingo’s rich timbre directed R&B sounds, mood lighting and a “sexy slow push” on the camera to communicate: “When you come to my house, the vibes are spectacular.”

Indeed.

While serenading the Studio 8H attendees, Domingo demonstrated that the sultry effect “works for everybody,” cuing tonight’s affable punching bag Jeremy Culhane to smize for the camera. It worked so well, actually, that a couple was spotted making out in the audience.

“Ooh, they’re straight. You don’t see that everyday,” Domingo quipped.

And while the Four Seasons alum was as charming as he was funny, a majority of the material did not rise to the occasion. Throughout Season 51, sketches have buckled under dragging runtimes, one-note jokes bludgeoned to death and facile concepts; earlier this year, another first time host, Teyana Taylor, was similarly let down by sketches that couldn’t match her depth and range as a performer.

A highlight of the night was “Fashion District Robbery,” in which Domingo appears as an extravagant professor named D’artagnan Meringue; when pressed by a local reporter to describe the individual who committed the crime, the beleaguered teacher can’t help but bring the focus back to his abysmal sartorial choices. He warns of the suspect at large: “Be on the lookout for a mess!” There are some fun tidbits here too: Mikey Day pops in and out of frame to add his two cents, while Chloe Fineman (whose presence this season has been muted) appears in a ludicrously capacious hat.

But after starting off strong, the material started to sag: In one sketch spoofing the Artemis II vlogs, Domingo’s passionate astronaut is derailed by two unserious colleagues (Day and Marcello Hernández) who keep bringing their shenanigans into the frame; in another, Domingo appears as a hammy Neil deGrasse Tyson type on PBS, the jokes in which hinge entirely on the monotonous whimsicality of people cosplaying as library objects.

Two sketches later in the night had great bones but fired in too many directions to have any staying power and salient humor.

There’s a funeral sketch in which Domingo pops up as one of four pimps of the recently deceased, shocking the late man’s grandsons, one of whom he tries to recruit. It’s a blink and you’ll miss it appearance, though Kenan Thompson, James Austin Johnson and Weekend Update co-anchor Colin Jost clearly have a blast playing souteneurs.

Another sketch opts for a Dead Poets Society and Good Will Hunting crossover, except Domingo’s free-spirited bohemian teaching style doesn’t gel too well with math: He throws caution — and arithmetic fact — to the wind. Several rudimentary suggestions for fake numbers follow. A bright spot: When Domingo questions why Andrew Dismukes’ frustrated student is so eager to learn the subject correctly, saying, “Why, so you can go out into the world and get a job?” his deadpan delivery of “Yes” is well worth it.

SNL also opted for two pre-taped sketches tonight. The first featured sad sack white guys finding their confidence at a Black barbershop known as “Uneek Kutz.” Domingo, Thompson and Kam Patterson commit to the bit, and Day’s divorcee comes out of his appointment with a durag and an opinion on the Pam vs. Gina debate in Martin. In the second, an Animorphs spoof finds Sarah Sherman unwittingly transformed into a humanoid frog, stuck “mid-morph” after she sneezes and farts at the same time; the sketch has Sherman’s fingerprints all over it, with its gross-out humor and uncanny visual effects.

As for Weekend Update, both Jost and Michael Che got good jabs in.

“If Iran doesn’t agree to peace, the greatest military of all time (OURS!) will f— Iran right up their Strait of Hormuz. Asalam alaykum, you crazy bastards!!!!” Jost began, reading a fake social media post from President Donald Trump. “Now, I completely made that up. But isn’t it kind of disturbing that you all totally believed that he had posted that?”

He continued, “President Trump did, genuinely, issue a post threatening to destroy Iran’s entire civilization and then ended with the phrase ‘praise be to Alllah,’ and I know that makes Trump sound like a radical terrorist, but remember, Trump has already been to a paradise with 72 virgins,” as a picture of the POTUS and late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein flashed on screen.

Meanwhile, Che quipped: “There is growing confusion over whether Israel being allowed to continue bombing Lebanon was part of the ceasefire with Iran. Ultimately, that decision comes down to the man controlling our military: Benjamin Netanyahu.”

As for the Update bits, Jane Wickline’s deer-in-the-headlights humor is often delightful, but her “Gen Z sexpert” fell flat. While the conceit of the bit is the character’s prudish and befuddling conception of intercourse, it goes all the way into the night, and not in a fun way.

Contrastingly, capping off a great appearance on the desk last week as Snape in HBO’s Harry Potter reboot, Patterson once again delivers in a two-hander with Hernández. The duo play in the nexus point between immaturity and precociousness, as “two kids from the back of the bus” who take turns making astute points about rising gas prices and low-hanging dick jokes.

Meanwhile, another inaugural performer, Brazilian superstar Anitta, took to the musical stage to debut her new collaboration with Shakira, “Choka Choka,” and “Várias Quejas.”
