Matildas v Panama Scoreboard
Thank you for joining us
Well done Matildas – and well done Joe Montemurro giving the rising stars a run. Thanks for the blog Marnie, it’s been a fun game to read – see you next time
– Mike
Thank you for your company tonight! We’ll take the win in the West.
That’s it from us. We’ll see you again for the Matildas next matches, after some well-deserved breaks.
That Charlie Grant goal
We finally have some vision for you! Thanks to Football Australia, via Paramount:
Panama gave some great fights
Despite conceding the late goal, Panama can hold their heads high. They made the Matildas earn everything throughout this series.
Hopefully Colombia can come to Perth for a series next year as the Colombianos in Perth would fill HBF Park.
– J
I agree, J. They definitely gave us some fun and entertaining games.
Taranto a new Tilles face
Marnie quick question is Adriana Taranto related to the afl player Tim Taranto
– Bailey
I thought I had too… But no, from what I understand, no direct relation.
I might steal that for my headline tonight…
I guess you could say Charli Grant-es the Matildas victory… ?
– Jonathan
Heyman set up the Matildas’ win with the double
Michelle Heyman has been a true legend tonight and in game #1 vs Panama – tonight with a double, and creating our original lead…I can’t believe the commentators didn’t interview her after either game ??.
– Anne

Heyman was an incredible target tonight. She had some great delivery and made the most of her chances.
Raso liked that one
Well played Hayley Raso – thanks again
– Mike
Hayley Raso played an excellent game tonight, who set up Michelle Heyman twice with goal assists.
“I feel like it’s so easy to play with Michelle… she always finishes it it off. It’s so great to play with her,” Raso told Paramount.
Raso also said Joe Montemurro gave the team “a good talking to” at half-time about the lack of intent. They came out with a lot more attack in the second.
Tonight, she’s heading up to the Gold Coast to take a break with her family – a needed one, she said.
A great night out for Grant
How good for Charli Grant to score only her second ever international goal and first since April 2023 to win the match for us at the death and split the series.
– Adam
Here’s a fun fact. Charlie Grant scored her first international goal on my birthday! It’s one match I won’t forget in a hurry.
No one happier than Grant tonight
“It’s amazing to win this for this team, they put an excellent ball in and I just got on the end of it,” Grant told Paramount of her match-winning goal.
“Scoring a goal for your country, you can’t top that”.

FT: AUS 3-2 PAN

That’s full time. The Matildas have done it!
They have claimed the second win to level the series with a late goal from Charlie Grant and double from Michelle Heyman.
90 + 7 Hunt manages
Clare Hunt is trying to slow the pace of the game down. Just a few more moments to survive.
90′ +5 Lincoln saves!
Chloe Lincoln had to come off her line into a congested area to take the grab with clean hands.
She landed on poor Jessika Nash, who will be very sore tomorrow.
90′ + 3 Australia keep defending
The Matildas survive a free within range from Panama captain Marta Cox.
Emily van Egmond is coming off with Chloe Berryhill coming on.
90′ +1 AUSTRALIA GOAL – GRANT
And it’s Charli Grant with her second international goal for the Matildas. Could that be the match winner? She would be a deserving hero for the evening.
90′ Seven additional minutes
Plenty of time for the narrative of this match to change.
89′ Double change for the Matildas
Adriana Taranto and Bryleeh Henry have come on in the final minute. They’ll have additional time to see what they can do.
Remy Siemsen and Holly McNamara are off.
88′ Tension high at Perth
There are going to be a lot of tried legs tomorrow. The Matildas are continuing to run hard as they search for the match-winner.
83′ Nash back on
Jessika Nash is playing on. It’s back to 11 players each as both sides search for the winner.
82′ PANAMA GOAL
With a player down for the Matildas, Lineth Cedeno thundered the ball past Chloe Lincoln and into the back of the net.
Panama making the most of Australia’s missing defender to equal the score.
