Batter gets to his knees and ends up crying
He immediately dropped to his knees after being dismissed, dropped his bat, covered his face with his hand, and remained motionless for 20 whole seconds. The opposition bowler Lizaad Williams tried to offer a supportive handshake, but Qeshile did not respond. In the meantime, the non-striker Basheeru-Deen Walters took his time walking from his end to stand beside Qeshile and even removed his gloves before Qeshile finally rose from the crease.
This dramatic reaction by Qeshile was a testament to the intense emotions that can run through a cricketer’s mind during high-pressure moments. The reaction by the batter was so genuine that he did not mind anyone else being there. The bowler came to him for the handshake but he did not react at all.

Sinethemba Qeshile’s despondent reaction after being dismissed for 97 runs in the Warriors vs Titans match can be understood by the fact that this wasn’t the first time he has been so close yet so far from a hundred. In the 2018/19 season, he was similarly dismissed for 99 against Knights, and he still awaits his first century in first-class cricket, with 11 half-centuries to his name. This disappointment may have contributed to his intense reaction during the 2020 match.
