...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM CST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following
counties, Massac and Pope and western Kentucky, including the
following counties, Ballard, Caldwell, Carlisle, Crittenden,
Graves, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 330 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Paducah, Mayfield, Metropolis, Princeton, Benton, Marion,
Dawson Springs, Calvert City, Cadiz, Eddyville, La Center,
Bardwell, Wickliffe, Reidland, Hillman Ferry Campground,
Demumbers Bay Campground, Birmingham Ferry Recreation Area,
Lone Oak, Cravens Bay Campground and Land Between The Lakes
Area.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Far southern Illinois, south of a Carbondale to Carmi
line, including the following areas, Alexander, Gallatin, Hardin,
Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, and Williamson,
southwest Indiana, along and south of Interstate 64, including the
following areas, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick, all of
western Kentucky, including the following areas, Ballard,
Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess,
Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon,
Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union KY,
and Webster, and all of southeast Missouri except Perry county,
including the following areas, Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau,
Carter, Mississippi, New Madrid, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard, and
Wayne MO.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Ongoing rain with a forecast of widespread 1.5 to 2.5 inches
average rainfall amounts across the Watch area. Localized
higher totals in the 3 to 4 inch range are possible.

You should monitor forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
