Chiefs desperately needed to bounce back to winning ways in what was a crucial match against Chippa United on Thursday, and they did just that with an important victory as they kept their hopes alive of finishing second in the DStv Premiership.
The much-needed win saw Chiefs move to 44 points on the log, two behind Pirates, who have played a game less, and three behind SuperSport United.

Unfortunately for the Soweto side, they will be without Keagan Dolly for the remainder of the season after it was confirmed that he’d suffered a serious knee injury.
Yet, the good news as they prepare for a clash against Swallows on Monday, is that they have not sustained any other injuries to be concerned about. This was confirmed by the club’s media department on Friday.
It means that for one of the few times this season, coach Arthur Zwane could opt to select the same starting lineup, while he may even have a couple of returning players available for consideration.

Zwane has cautioned against focusing on next week’s Soweto Derby, though, as he called on the players to fully focus on the game that takes place on Monday against the Birds.
“Next up is Swallows and then the Soweto Derby in the Nedbank Cup semi-final,” coach Arthur Zwane commented as he looked ahead. “There are many things that are playing in our players’ heads, such as, ‘I want to be part of the Soweto Derby but I don’t want to risk an injury or suspension’.
“As a coach, those are the things I am going to have to try and manage, to help players not to think about, but to think about the job at hand… Then, from there we can start talking about the Soweto Derby.
