If you’re a The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express cardmember and haven’t yet used your Fine Hotels + Resorts program $200 statement credit for the year, here is a good opportunity.
There is an Amex Offer running which gives you $200 back when you spend at least $850 with Fine Hotels + Resorts. This can be stacked with your $200 annual statement credit, effectively giving you $400 off a stay of $850 or more. You need to book a prepaid stay through the American Express Travel portal by Nov. 12, but the travel dates can be after that.

Spend $850 on an FHR reservation and get $200 back
To take advantage of this offer, Platinum cardholders should look in their Amex Offers section for this offer and click “Add offer.” This promotion, which requires cardholders to spend at least $850 on prepaid FHR reservations for $200 back in statement credit, is limited to one per person, for travel booked by Nov. 12. Stack this offer with the $200 prepaid Platinum hotel credit
Note that this offer is stackable with the prepaid $200 hotel credit for those with the Platinum card; you can use the card on select prepaid bookings at FHR and The Hotel Collection when booked through the Amex Travel portal.
Booking a hotel via Amex’s FHR program provides elite perks — including daily breakfast, room upgrades, 4 p.m. late checkout and other extras — at more than 1,100 upscale properties globally; all of this comes at a price that may not be more than booking directly with the hotel itself. American Express cardmembers with a Platinum- or Centurion-branded card, including The Platinum Card from American Express and The Business Platinum Card from American Express, can book select hotels through this program.
Members can also use this Amex Offer to book stays through The Hotel Collection, which offers room upgrades at check-in (when available) and up to a $100 hotel credit for use on qualifying dining, spa and resort activities. Just note that The Hotel Collection requires a minimum two-night stay while Amex FHR does not have a minimum stay requirement.
Bottom line
Platinum cardholders who have not already taken advantage of their $200 annual prepaid hotel credit can receive a potential credit opportunity worth $400. Use The Platinum Card from American Express or The Business Platinum Card from American Express for this offer and earn 5 points per dollar spent on all prepaid hotels booked with American Express Travel.
Even if you are booking a hotel that’s part of a larger loyalty program, you may still be eligible to earn points and elite credits for a stay booked via Fine Hotels & Resorts, making this offer potentially even more valuable.
