Governing for the future: Inside the Executive Forum on Strategic Compliance

…An executive convening charting how African institutions are strengthening governance and risk in a rapidly evolving global environment.

By Tiffany A. ARCHER, Esq.

As the Forum prepares to open, Professor Douglas Boateng captures the urgency—and the opportunity—before Africa’s leaders: “Africa stands at a thrilling crossroads: by embedding robust governance and compliance in our boardrooms, we lay the foundation for industrial growth and shape a single continental market under the AfCFTA.

When strategic frameworks meet transparency, investment flows increase, value chains thrive, and the promise of Agenda?2063 becomes reality. The Forum isn’t a seminar; it’s a spark for Africa’s economic awakening.” — Professor Douglas Boateng, Forum Keynote and Africa’s leading authority on corporate governance

On 26 June, senior leaders from across sectors will gather at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra for the Executive Forum on Strategic ComplianceGoverning for the future: Inside the Executive Forum on Strategic Compliance—an intimate, executive-focused gathering that places governance, risk, compliance, and institutional strategy at the centre of Africa’s development agenda.

As regulatory pressure intensifies, global expectations shift, and digital disruption transforms every sector, this convening offers a setting for decision-makers to sharpen strategy, benchmark progress, and build credible systems. The aim is not only to respond to today’s governance demands, but to design institutions that are resilient, aligned, and future-ready.

Ghana’s leadership in compliance and institutional reform

Ghanaian institutions are increasingly shaping how compliance is practiced across the region—through AML reform, financial crime enforcement, and digital regulatory innovation. The Forum builds on this momentum and brings together voices advancing integrity, transparency, and accountability at national and continental levels.

Among the institutions represented on the programme are:

  • Ghana Integrity Initiative
  • Societe Generale Ghana
  • Ghana Police Service (Cybercrime Directorate)
  • Konfidants
  • DevHub Africa

Participants will also hear from global experts in regulation, fintech, and enforcement—bridging disciplines to surface practical, context-aware solutions.

Themes that reflect the realities of leadership today

Over the course of one day, sessions will address both persistent risks and emerging frontiers in compliance and governance. Topics include:

  • Ghana’s evolving AML/CFT framework and the future of enforcement
    • How African institutions can lead on AI ethics and algorithmic accountability
    • Behavioural science and neuroscience for executive decision-making
    • ESG, strategy, and the African Union’s Agenda 2063

A networking lunch will provide participants with an opportunity to connect across sectors and reflect on insights from the morning sessions. The programme will also feature a book signing with Professor Boateng and a cocktail reception for continued dialogue among senior decision-makers and institutional stakeholders.

A platform rooted in African priorities, backed by global experience

The Forum is an initiative of Eunomia Risk Advisory, a specialist consultancy helping public and private institutions build ethical cultures, navigate regulatory change, and embed accountability into systems and leadership. Eunomia’s work draws from behavioural science, data strategy, and legal reform—bringing a multidisciplinary lens to governance challenges.

Its founder, Tiffany A. Archer, Esq., is a former global compliance executive, advisor to organisations under regulatory oversight, and lecturer in law. She brings experience leading programmes across the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and Africa, and launched the Forum in response to a gap she observed across jurisdictions: a lack of executive-level dialogue rooted in Africa’s realities and informed by global practice.

Archer notes, “There are limited opportunities for African leaders in governance, risk, and compliance to come together across sectors and jurisdictions—to reflect, exchange ideas, and shape solutions that speak to our institutional realities.” The Forum was created to meet that need—bringing decision-makers together through a format designed for candour, collaboration, and practical insight.

Leaders this forum will serve

The Forum is intended for senior leaders across business, government, law, development, and civil society. Confirmed participants include board chairs, chief executives, regulators, senior legal counsel, directors of compliance and audit, development partners, and public officials.

It is particularly relevant for those responsible for guiding institutions through uncertainty—where sound governance, transparency, and long-term credibility must be strengthened from the top. For those carrying such responsibility, this will be a timely and necessary conversation. To register or learn more, visit www.executiveforumcompliance.com. Seats are limited. Early confirmation is advised.

>>>the writer is President and Founder of Eunomia Risk Advisor Inc, a specialized advisory firm advancing ethical governance, institutional resilience, and risk foresight across jurisdictions. She is also the Co-Chair of the Executive Forum on Strategic Compliance.
