Harry Pell has been fined and handed a one-match ban for misconduct in AFC Wimbledon’s 1-0 win over Milton Keynes.
The midfielder admitted that he acted in an improper manner during the warm up, with videos allegedly showing Pell kicking balls into the away fans.
But Dons fans have set up this GoFundMe to cover the cost of Pell’s fine, with any additional money raised going to the Dons Local Action Group.
The fundraiser has already collected over £1900 as of March 22.
Pell was an unused substitute during the game as Ronan Curtis scored a last minute winner to spark wild scenes of jubilation at Plough Lane.
The 32-year-old said his shots into the crowd “were not struck with power but were intended more as a playful response to the verbal abuse from some of the spectators,” in a letter to the FA on March 12.
Adding there was a “rush of blood” reaction and “on mature reflection, I should have simply ignored the shouts and got on with my warm-up.”
The FA also fined both clubs. Wimbledon received an £8,000 fine, and Milton Keynes received a £ 2,500 fine for their part in the altercation during the game.
Johnnie Jackson’s side have appealed their fine.
