Apple has launched the first beta of iOS 27.3, introducing a comprehensive suite of new features and enhancements. Notably, this update extends the revamped StandBy experience from the iPhone Duo to additional iPhone models.
Expansion of StandBy Feature to Other iPhones
The unveiling of the iPhone Duo featured a unique upgraded StandBy experience, showcasing fresh clock designs and enhanced personalization options. This mode, which was initially exclusive to the Duo, allows users to view customized information when their devices are horizontally positioned while charging.

Previously, users of non-Duo models were restricted to the standard StandBy functionalities, which included basic clock, widget, and photo displays, but did not encompass the additional clock styles or personalization features available with the iPhone Duo.
With the arrival of iOS 27.3, Apple is set to roll out the enhanced Analog and Digital Clock faces to a broader audience. This update invites users to further customize these faces by selecting different colors and complications. Moreover, the update introduces new Calendar and Weather displays, and adds the capability for users to choose specific shared photos to feature in the Photos face.
Owners of iPhone 11 and newer devices can now create multiple iterations of the same StandBy face, each customizable, and easily switch between them at will.
The full release of iOS 27.3 is anticipated in December. For further details regarding the StandBy feature and guidance on its various customization options, please follow this link.
