Orlando Pirates legend Eugen Zwane believes Kaizer Chiefs are worse under Cavin Johnson than they were when Arthur Zwane was the coach.
Zwane was speaking to FarPost, where he expressed his views on the current state of Amakhosi and his cousin Arthur.
According to the retired player, Zwane relied too much on the youngsters, and he feels that cost him the Chiefs job.
Nonetheless, Zwane feels Arthur did well during his tenure although the timing of playing the younger players may have been off given Chiefs’ struggles.
In his view, Zwane said things went from promising under to Arthur to worse when Molefi Ntseki was roped in as his successor.
Amakhosi are horribly worse now under Johnson than when Arthur was there, according to Zwane – and has drawn conclusions on this.
The former TV football pundit urged Chiefs supporters to be patient with coaches and not be as harsh as they were to Arthur.

“Arthur tried because they are his boys, he raised them but it cost him his job. Even though as you know now, he was actually not doing too badly but because supporters wanted a Cup,” said Zwane.
“They hadn’t won a Cup in a long time, and [supporters] were like, ‘Coach move we want another one’. Ntseki came in, it was worse and now Johnson, even more worse.
“So, I think supporters are learning that sometimes you mustn’t rush trophies. Some of them on social media are saying, ‘Arthur we didn’t give you a chance, you were actually not doing too bad’.
“His stats compared to what you’re seeing now are little bit better. So, it’s a matter of time and space, nothing to do with their ability.
“But also as I said it also depends on the coach’s confidence, Arthur was confident to play these boys even though he was losing some of the matches. But he would say that we lost but I’ve given an experience. He also comes from the Jomo Sono school of coaching,” concluded Zwane.

The 50-year-old was in charge of 37 matches across all competitions at Chiefs, and he won 17 of those, drew seven and lost 13.
At time of Arthur’s tenure, Chiefs had scored 44 goals and conceded 41.
