The Governments of Kenya and Somalia have pledged to fast track the implementation of the Joint Commission for Cooperation between the two nations.

The pledge was made when new Kenyan President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, hosted Somalia’s President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, at the State House, Nairobi Kenya, on Wednesday morning, September 14, 2022.

Among other things, the implementation of the Joint Commission for Cooperation will help boost trade in Miraa and fish and ease movement between the two nations.

Dr. Ruto also held discussions with Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud that included the security situation in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
