Kenya’s presidency awaits on final decision by the supreme court

The fate of Kenya’s president-elect William Ruto will be decided by the Supreme Court of Kenya after consideration of the eight petitions filed this week, challenging his victory. The main petitioners, Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua claim that William Ruto did not obtain the 50% plus one vote needed for a candidate to be declared the winner. These have now blamed IEBC boss Wafula Chebukati for declaring Ruto as the winner of the presidential elections although some of his commissioners disagreed with the results.
