Martha Wanjiru has won the hearts of many Kenyans after waiving January rent for her tenants in Ongata Rongai.

The kind-hearted lady said she considers her tenants as family and did not expect her gesture to go viral.

The business lady spends time between Germany and Kenya.

According to her, she worked and saved money while abroad.

She then invested it back home in Kenya by buying land and building apartments.

2. Martha Wanjiru returns to Kenya with goodies

When she returned to Kenya this year from Germany, Wanjiru had a surprise for her tenants.

She organised food and drinks for them as they watched the world cup before announcing the rent waiver.

Wanjiru explained that her tenants are family hence, decided to give back to them this holiday season.

3. Martha Wanjiru’s tenants grateful

The occupants of Wanjiru’s houses were overjoyed, as a man who lived there for seven years attested.

They described her as an understanding and caring landlady.

“Whenever I pay rent late she understands me. I am a fundi so our work is not stable. I have children and will use the January rent to pay fees.”

4. Martha Wanjiru’s partner supports her

The landlady disclosed that her lover fully supported her decision to forego January rent payments.

Footage captured by a local TV station showed the two lovebirds smiling from cheek to cheek.

The man who stole her heart is of Caucasian origin.

The landlady has one child, a 20-year-old daughter.

The ageless mother of one often shares photos alongside her lookalike daughter and they could easily be mistaken for siblings.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Wanjiru said she would rather help people than pay tithe.

“Religion has been turned into a business and I would not make a pastor rich. I would rather help someone and see the impact I have made.”

Wanjiru noted that she had not seen any preacher giving back the offering they got all year long to the needy during the festive season.
