Medibank customers must remain ‘vigilant’

Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre CEO Rachael Falk says people must become more “vigilant” when it comes to sharing personal information, following the Medibank data breach.

Ms Falk said people must be aware of “emails, texts, phone calls purporting to be from Medibank” asking for information, as Medibank will not contact customers this way.

She warned phishing scams “may look quite authentic with links or actions” for customers to click on.
