Community-Focused Activities Celebrate Scientology’s Milestone in Milan
KINGNEWSWIRE // PRESS RELEASE // MILAN, Italy — 4 November 2026 — The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have embarked on a series of community events in Milan, commencing on 31 October to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the Church of Scientology’s headquarters in the Bicocca district. This week-long initiative features free practical training, consultations with local entities, and a blood donation event organized in partnership with AVIS Milano, scheduled for Friday, 6 November.
Emphasizing the Power of Volunteering
Under the theme “Celebrating the Value of Volunteering — Together for the Heart of Our Community,” this anniversary program aims to recognize the invaluable contributions of individuals volunteering in various sectors, including emergency response, education, environmental sustainability, and support for those in distress.
Outreach and Engagement Activities
The kick-off event featured street outreach alongside a gathering attended by representatives from civil protection agencies, diplomatic missions, and local governmental organizations. The activities demonstrated the collaborative efforts established between the Church and various organizations in Milan.
Sharing Practical Skills on Milan’s Streets
On the anniversary of the headquarters’ opening on 31 October, Scientology Volunteer Ministers engaged directly with residents in public spaces, introducing them to Strumenti per la Vita (Tools for Life), a suite of free online courses aimed at enhancing personal and interpersonal skills.
These comprehensive resources cover essential topics such as effective communication, conflict resolution, organizational skills, personal accountability, and assistance in challenging circumstances.
Part of the global Scientology Volunteer Ministers program, these courses stem from the teachings of founder L. Ron Hubbard and have been designed to equip individuals with practical skills beneficial for both daily life and volunteer endeavors.
In Milan, volunteers focused on making these educational resources widely accessible, explaining their content and ease of online access at no cost.
Institutional Dialogue on Volunteering
The engagement day culminated in an institutional event featuring presentations and personal stories from those involved in community service. Attendees included representatives from civic organizations and diplomatic circles, as they discussed the significant role of volunteer service and the necessity of collaborative work among organizations in the same region.
The inaugural message highlighted the broader implications of volunteering: “Volunteering is not merely an individual act of generosity. It is also a form of active citizenship, capable of strengthening social cohesion…”
Public Awareness Event: “Something Can Be Done”
On Tuesday, 3 November, a public event titled Qualcosa si può fare — Something Can Be Done About It was organized in Piazza Antonio Gramsci. The event served to familiarize attendees with the work of Scientology Volunteer Ministers, featuring their iconic yellow tent which has become a recognizable element of their outreach in Italy and beyond.
This tent is used to explain the volunteers’ methodologies, showcase educational materials, and discuss the range of issues their training seeks to address.
The motto, chosen by Hubbard, emphasizes the principle that constructive action is possible even in the face of adversity, encouraging community members to engage proactively with challenges.
Blood Donation Initiative on 6 November
The final event of the week, set for Friday, 6 November, will feature a mobile blood donation unit from AVIS Milano at the Church of Scientology, Viale Fulvio Testi 327. This initiative continues the longstanding collaboration between the Church and the local blood donation organization, which has previously conducted donation drives at the venue.
AVIS plays a vital role in Italy, focusing on voluntary blood donations to support medical needs such as transfusions and surgeries. The Church’s hosting of the mobile unit showcases its commitment to community service in partnership with specialized healthcare providers.
Reflecting on Eleven Years of Community Service
The Church of Scientology of Milan has been operational at its current location since 31 October 2015. The facility serves as a hub for religious practices, educational endeavors, and community engagement activities.
Over the years, it has hosted a variety of events in collaboration with external organizations, reinforcing the importance of community service.
Ivan Arjona, the Church’s representative to the European Union and other key international bodies, emphasized the value of local partnerships, stating, “Europe’s principles of solidarity and respect for human dignity become more meaningful when they are part of everyday life.”
This week of activities concluded with the commitment to citizen engagement starting from street outreach to enhancing institutional collaboration in Milan.
