Modest Mouse drummer, Jeremiah Green, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
Jeremiah Green, the drummer for indie-rock band Modest Mouse, has died aged 45.
The band confirmed his death on social media writing.
“I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our dear friend, Jeremiah,” the band wrote.
“He laid down to rest and simply faded out.

“I’d like to say a bunch of pretty words right now, but it just isn’t the time. These will come later, and from many people.
“Please appreciate all the love you give, get, have given, and will get. Above all, Jeremiah was about love. We love you.”
On Wednesday, Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock announced on Instagram that Green had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
At the time, he asked friends and fans for support as his bandmate goes through treatment.
“Some of you may have already heard, but I figured it would be good to hear the news directly from our camp,” Brock wrote.
“Jeremiah, as am I, are believers in the power of positive energy, so if you would be so kind as to send ‘good vibes’ [to quote Jeremiah] in the direction of Jeremiah and his family, that’d be great.”
Green was recently seen performing with the band in a December performance in Los Angeles, according to fan videos of the show.
The band was scheduled to play through Latin America in the coming months, including stops in Mexico and Lollapalooza Brazil.
Green, Brock and bassist Eric Judy founded Modest Mouse in the 1990s and released their debut album in 1996. Since then, the group has expanded to six members, and together they’ve released eight albums. The most recent album, The Golden Casket, was released last June under Epic Records.
Before Golden Casket, Modest Mouse made a return in 2015 with their first new music in eight years.
