New Gazette on revised fees for National Identity Cards in Sri Lanka

Colombo, Oct 14 (NewsWire) – A Gazette notification has been issued by the Minister of Public Security revising the fees of services related to the issuance of National Identity Cards (NIC). 

Accordingly, the Department for Registration of Persons will enforce the price hike from 1st November 2022.

The revised prices are as follows:

  • NIC for a first-time applicant – Rs. 200
  • New NIC in place of an expired NIC – Rs. 200
  • Duplicate NIC for stolen or misplaced NICs – Rs. 1000
  • Amend details of a NIC- Rs.500
