Fans will have a new chance to buy tickets for the Paris Olympics 2024 next week with another 250 000 places set to be released, chief organiser Tony Estanguet said on Wednesday.
“Next week, on April 17 at 10:00, we will put 250 000 new tickets on sale for all sports, all price categories and for all competition sites,” Estanguet told reporters.
Following criticism of high prices during previous releases, he said that half of them would be sold for under €100 (R2 016).

A total of 10 000 tickets for gymnastics will be made available, with 15 000 for swimming, 12 000 for tennis and 35 000 for beach volleyball, which is set to be played in a temporary stadium in front of the Eiffel Tower.
“You’ll have to be quick,” Estanguet warned, adding that the vast majority of tickets – 7.9 million in total – had already been sold.
Two-thirds of previous buyers were French, but people from 150 different countries have also secured tickets, according to the organising committee.
The Paris Olympics are set to take place from July 26-August 11 followed by the Paralympics from August 28-September 8.
