Office of the First Daughter: Charlene Ruto Puzzles Kenyans after Introducing Her Workplace’s Staff

Charlene Ruto is yet again in the trending topics after mentioning she operates from the ‘Office of the First Daughter’.

On Tuesday, December 13, while attending the YouLead Summit in Arusha, Tanzania, the daughter of President William Ruto introduced her team to the hosts, suggesting she has a complete team with her.

Unheard of “Office of the First Daughter”

This would not be the first the president’s daughter is becoming the talk of the town.

She has constantly courted controversy since her emergence in the limelight following her father’s ascension to power.

In her office exists, among other dockets, the head of trade and investment and also a political advisor.

“Before I continue, I wanted to quickly introduce my team from Kenya. I’ll start with the back. He is Mike Sagana, a politician and one of my team members. He is my principal advisor. This is Jamine Momanyi, he is the head of trade and investment in the office of the first daughter,” she introduced her team.

This came a few days after Charlene revealed that her father okays her presence at high-power meetings with county bosses and other high-profile officials.

Charlene: My father is aware of my meetings

She affirmed that her father is aware of her cause in the counties and other settings including the offices of state corporations.

Besides her engagements with the counties’ chief executives, Charlene has been undertaking charitable works in the counties, which she also confirms have been blessed by her parents.

“We had a good sit down with my dad where I shared my vision and what I’m doing. He really supports and encourages me and I always keep him updated about the things that I do. My parents are keen supporters of this, and that gives me the motivation to do what I’m doing,” she said.

She also clarified that her charitable cause in counties is bankrolled by her friends and well-wishers.

It had been presumed she undertakes the works at the expense of the taxpayer’s monies by virtue of her father being the head of state.

“Charlene Ruto Foundation has different donors and sponsors who have come on board. Some are individuals and people in business who have come to me to support the foundation. I have also put my own resources and that of my team. So we are not using the government resources for our activities and we don’t have to,” she said.
