Italian sportsbrand, Diadora, seems to be making a big comeback. Orlando Pirates‘ Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo has joined the family.
Nldondlo yet a disappionting season by his standards. The Thokoza-born star lost his place in the starting line-up after coach Jose Riveiro started to select the likes of Makhahlene Makhaula, Miguel Timm and Thelante Mbatha in his midfield for Orlando Pirates. Nevertheless, Ndlondlo has found a reason to celebrate.
The former Marumo Gallants and Bidvest Wits academy star revealed the conclusion of a sponsorship deal with Italian brand Diadora.
“Discipline has become a part my DNA, setting a high standard for myself to always perform at my best and continually push myself to go the extra mile,” the Orlando Pirates said in the announcement.
“Football is a vital part of my life. My deep love for the sport shapes everything I do – I live and breathe football. This dedication keeps me focused and enhances my performance,” Ndlondlo added.
In the meantime, Ndlondlo is expected to make the trip to Mbombela as Orlando Pirates take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday at 15:00.
PRAISE FOR TSHEGOFATSO MABASA
Orlando Pirates captain, Innocent Maela, has lauded Tshegofatso Mabasa. The Botshabelo-born striker won the DStv Premiership Golden Boot award with 15 goals.
“Generally, in life when you are humble, you will always be surrounded by people who are willing to fight for you and help you when you need the help. Tshego is a smart guy, he is down to earth and he works really hard,” said Maela, as per Hollywoodbets.
“What I like most about him is that he is selfless, you can see that in the way that you play that he is always thinking about the player next to him. Because of the characteristics that he has within him,” the Orlando Pirates skipper added.
“We are able to help him because we know that he is also there for us when we need him. All I can say is that he must continue keeping his head down and keep scoring goals for the team.”
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS PREPARATION
“We will do our preparations with matches analysis, but we don’t only watch one match. We watch a lot of games that we prepare for, so we will see and find spaces and moments where we can exploit them,” the Orlando Pirates defender said.
“They are a good team, but they have their weaknesses like any other team. We have seen over the weekend (when Downs lost to Cape Town City) that anything can happen, so we will plan and take our time.
“There are moments in the season when we did not have time to prepare but this we are having a full week,” Maela concluded.
