A pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car at an intersection in Waimate, south of Timaru.
The incident happened at the junction of Harris and Manse streets in the South Canterbury town, with police called at 6.15pm.
A spokesperson said the road could be partially blocked as emergency services respond.
