Pitso Mosimane to Kaizer Chiefs is looking more likely than a pipe dream at this stage.
The highly rated South African coach has been linked with a move to Naturena the minute he left his job in the United Arab Emirates. The 59-year-old was a free agent for two months before taking a job in Saudi Arabia. Mosimane’s task was to help the struggling Abha Club survive relegation.

Pitso Mosimane still wanted by Kaizer Chiefs?
Since his appointment in January, Jingles has managed four wins, three draws and five defeats. The former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor collected 15 points since taking over and needs two wins and a draw to help Abha survive relegation. Pitso’s team is in the relegation zone, one point behind Al Riyadh in 15th position.
Pitso’s assignment is to help the club survive amid Kaizer Chiefs speculation. If he fails the mandate, Abha club owners likely won’t offer a new deal to the ex-Ah Ahly coach.
With three games to end the ongoing campaign, the chances of Abha retaining their status in the Saudi Pro League are not looking good. On Saturday, Mosimane faces his former team Al Ahli Saudi. A win could prove vital while defeat will all but see Abha relegated
It might be good for Kaizer Chiefs who are still in search of a new coach. Mosimane’s availability might be what the club needs and definitely what the supporters want. Jingles is on a six-month contract and if the Middle East outfit gets the chop, he might return to the PSL.
Pitso to Kaizer Chiefs seem unlikely and according to Abha’s club supervisor, Sultan Majrashi, the bosses are happy with Jingles.
“I believe that the lack of stability in the technical staff since the beginning of the season and the frequent changes are things that caused the first team’s results to vary,” Majrashi told Aawsat.
“But we notice stability now with coach Mosimane and an increase in the team’s results, as he was able to almost achieve 16 points since his arrival, and we are very optimistic about achieving survival.”
Jingles impressing the Saudi bosses so far
Should Pitso Mosimane ‘pull a rabbit out of a hat’ and save Abha, Kaizer Chiefs can kiss the three-time CAF Champions League winner goodbye. The club might keep the former Bafana Bafana coach if the club fights until the last game of the season.
Kaizer Chiefs management are not waiting for Pitso and revealed a few coaches have been shortlisted already.
