It must be like stepping into a parallel universe when working for the Royal Family.
Do you bump into them when they’re in their pyjamas? What is it like waking the Queen up? Are they just like a normal family?
Only those who have worked for the royals can say.
A former royal chef has come forward with several amusing anecdotes about his time working for the most famous family in the world.
And perhaps one of the best stories to emerge is the truth behind Prince William and Prince Harry’s favourite pudding.

Former royal chef Darren McGrady has often shared little glints into what it was like working for the Queen and other royals for 15 years.
He originally worked at the Savoy Hotel in London and cooked for everyone from the Queen to Diana, Princess of Wales and even Prince William.
Mr McGrady, who now lives in Dallas, Texas, has been using his YouTube channel to reveal the favourite foods of the family, as well as share some of his favourite stories.

And while many youngsters would declare that something like ice cream or chocolate was their favourite sweet treat, it seems Prince William and Prince Harry were rather more refined in their tastes.
McGrady revealed that the two young princes favourite pudding was banana flan. The “super easy dessert” is made up of banana custard in a pastry shell, topped with chopped bananas and brushed with apricot jelly.
The former royal chef explained in the video: “You can’t send rose petal panna cotta with lavender shortbread up to a five-year-old Prince William, can you? He doesn’t have that sort of palette yet.”
He continued by revealing banana flan was one of the young princes favourite dishes, so much so that they would rush into the kitchen to see him after school.
“Whenever the boys were home, Princess Diana would write banana flan in the menu book. And then she’d write H or W at the top to let me know who was coming,” Darren said.
“The boys would come back from school on a Friday to Kensington Palace and come in the kitchen, ‘What’s for dinner, Darren?’ They’d see the banana flan on the side and say, ‘Yes!'”
So, just how do you make Prince William and Prince Harry’s favourite dessert? McGrady shared a clever tip to make the perfect custard and it appears that cornstarch is a huge time-saver.
He said: “The great thing about using cornstarch in this is that once that liquid gets hot enough to open up the cornstarch granules, then it starts to thicken automatically.”
For the finishing touches, he suggested layering the bananas on the top of the tart starting from the outside, overlapping as you go. Once you’ve created the pretty layered design, the royal chef added the glaze.
“The glaze is to give it some sweetness but also to protect those bananas so they don’t go all brown and nasty,” he said.
But, banana flan isn’t the only sweet food that Prince William has a penchant for. Much like his grandmother, William is said to have a very sweet tooth when it comes to chocolate.
The Queen has been described as a “chocoholic” by a former royal chef and it became clear that William has inherited that trait during a video call with school children before Easter.
Catherine revealed that William couldn’t stop eating their supply of Easter chocolate.
As the couple wished everyone a Happy Easter, William reassured them that: “There will be a lot of chocolate being eaten here, don’t worry!” Before his wife quickly replied: “You keep eating it!”
