Priyanka Chopra touched by starving Kenyan kids
Priyanka, married to singer Nick Jonas, posted a video of driving through a drought-stricken part of Kenya on Instagram.
The winner of the Miss World 2000 pageant said her mind was uneasy as she imagined what the situation on the ground could be like.

“My mind is in a million places at one time and I’m really feeling on edge. It has been this way since I boarded my flight from LA.”

The actress noted that seeing children facing starvation was difficult.
“And as a new mother, it really hits differently. I know its going to be tough but I want to take you on this journey with me.”
In the video’s caption, the award-winning actress said children are dying from starvation.
“Millions are on the brink of starvation. This is the face of the climate crisis, and here in Kenya it’s happening right now.”
However, Priyanka noted that there is hope, and she would highlight efforts by UNICEF to alleviate the situation.
She further called on her followers to donate to the cause, noting that she had already done the same.

In September, President William Ruto flagged off truckloads of 20,000 bags of rice, and 20,000 bags of beans, among other household products, to counties stricken by drought.
Ruto said that his manifesto will build a basis on the existing drought issues to ensure food security.
He pleaded with counties to adjust their budgets to ensure they exhaustively address drought and famine in the devolved units.
