Russian President Vladimir Putin says a new type of intercontinental ballistic missile will be deployed soon.
Putin made the remark at a defense ministry meeting on Wednesday. He said Sarmat missiles, which can carry multiple nuclear warheads, will be on combat duty in the near future.
Russia’s defense ministry announced in April it test-fired a Sarmat missile that hit a target about 5,700 kilometers away.
Putin’s remarks come as NATO members continue to provide military support for Ukraine.
