Baltimore Ravens Add Kedon Slovis from Packers’ Practice Squad
In a strategic move, the Baltimore Ravens have signed quarterback Kedon Slovis off the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad, as reported by The Ringer on Tuesday.
Slovis Joins Ravens’ Roster Ahead of Key Matchup
Slovis will bolster the Ravens’ 53-man roster just two days prior to their Thursday night showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This comes at a crucial time, as the Ravens (4-4) will face off against the Jaguars (5-2) without their star quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is sidelined with a thumb injury, and veteran backup Tyler Huntley, currently dealing with a toe issue.
Fagnano Steps In Following Injuries
After both Jackson and Huntley were injured during a significant 36-10 defeat against the Buffalo Bills, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano stepped in as the emergency quarterback.
Fagnano’s Status Amidst Game Day Injuries
Fagnano, aged 25, incurred an ankle injury during the game and was listed as a limited participant in Monday’s walk-through practice. In his NFL debut, he completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards, accompanied by one interception and a lost fumble.
Ravens Strengthen Quarterback Depth
In addition to Slovis, the Ravens signed quarterback Austin Reed, 26, to their practice squad on Monday. Reed previously spent training camp with the Ravens and had a preseason showing where he completed 6 of 12 passes for 59 yards, including one touchdown and one interception. He had stints with the Chicago Bears in both 2024 and 2025 but was released after training camp each year.
Slovis’ Journey to Baltimore
At 25, Slovis entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2024. He appeared in two games for the Arizona Cardinals in 2025, completing a single pass for negative yardage before being released on August 30. Shortly after, he signed with Green Bay.
Coaching Connection
Interestingly, Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork served as Slovis’ position coach during his time with the Cardinals last season, potentially aiding Slovis’ adaptation to his new role in Baltimore.
